Life gets busy and hectic but that doesn’t mean we should let our hair health fall by the wayside. Below is four common hair laws that get broken on the regular but we’re here with a gentle reminder to get back on track. The more you know, the more you grow!
DIRTY BRUSHES AND COMBS
You keep your living space pretty clean. Your clothes are always washed and put away but how clean is your hairbrush? Regular cleansing of your hairbrush is essential for your hair health. Mix together some baking soda and water to wash your brushes in and watch the dirt, dead hair follicles and germs fade away.
TOO MANY HOT SHOWERS
Showering both too often and with too hot a temperature is detrimental to your hair. Frequent showers and hot water can cause the natural oils from your hair to disappear. This can cause dandruff and will definitely create grease on your scalp. Rinse with cold water for the best results!
Our bodies literally need fuel in the morning to get going. This ‘fuel’ comes in the form of nutrients found in common breakfast food items such as bananas, smoothies, yogurts etc. I cannot stress enough the importance of eating breakfast. Not only does it get our body and mind going, it helps our hair stay strong and healthy which will leave it looking shiny and full. By neglecting your breakfast, you’re neglecting the motor of your body that controls all other aspects of the human form.
PRODUCT GRAVEYARD The amount of hair products available to consumers is staggering. Sure, options are great but this is getting out of control. Do me a favour and ask your stylist which hair products are essential to you. This will depend upon how often you style and how.
Trust your stylist to guide you on which products will work best for your hair. After that, go through your bathroom cabinet and purge all the unnecessary products. Over use of products can damage your hair from the large mix of chemicals so it’s best to stick with a few dependables.
That’s all for today folks. Enjoy another lovely weekend in the big smoke and we’ll be talking soon.
